Yes, Virginia, There ARE Social Media Pros!

As you know, I teach and consult about social media so it’s rare I go to a social media seminar where I’m blown away. It’s not that I know it all. In fact, anyone who tells you they know EVERYTHING about social media (Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, etc) is either delusional or lying. I’m an investigative reporter geek, okay? I love all things tech but there’s no way to keep up with EVERYTHING in the ever changing world of social media. That means either one of two things when I hear someone else speak about social media: I’m either bored or unfulfilled. (Let me state for the record that I’ve never had the pleasure of hearing Chris Brogan, John Haydon, Peter ShankmanSeth Godin or Mari Smith– who are my personal favorites!)
However, I was neither bored or unfulfilled when I heard Jennifer Abernathy speak at the Spark & Hustle convention in Atlanta. This chick is the REAL DEAL. I was both interested (she’s engaging!) and impressed (she taught me NEW things but didn’t loose the newbies either!). Best of all she understands the wonderful relationship between social media and marketing. (Be still my heart!) So, before the conference ended… I wanted to get her on tape so YOU could meet her.
If you’re looking for a book about social media that’s actually GOOD… check out “The Complete Idiot’s Guide To Social Media Marketing”. Jennifer rocks! She understands that whether you want to up your game or totally reinvent, social media should be a HUGE part of your marketing campaign. I likee!!

  1. John Haydon says:

Cindy – I am honored and humbled that you mentioned me along with the real experts!

    John

  2. Hi Cindy! Thank you so much for the kind words and what a social media group to be linked with. I hope we can all “raise our glasses” to each other sometime in the near future for being so passionate about this revolution called Social Media Marketing. When we are all 80 years old we can look back at this historical time!
Raising my glass to you and John and Mari and Peter, Seth and Chris!
