Yes, Virginia, There ARE Social Media Pros!
As you know, I teach and consult about social media so it’s rare I go to a social media seminar where I’m blown away. It’s not that I know it all. In fact, anyone who tells you they know EVERYTHING about social media (Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, etc) is either delusional or lying. I’m an investigative reporter geek, okay? I love all things tech but there’s no way to keep up with EVERYTHING in the ever changing world of social media. That means either one of two things when I hear someone else speak about social media: I’m either bored or unfulfilled. (Let me state for the record that I’ve never had the pleasure of hearing Chris Brogan, John Haydon, Peter Shankman, Seth Godin or Mari Smith– who are my personal favorites!)
However, I was neither bored or unfulfilled when I heard Jennifer Abernathy speak at the Spark & Hustle convention in Atlanta. This chick is the REAL DEAL. I was both interested (she’s engaging!) and impressed (she taught me NEW things but didn’t loose the newbies either!). Best of all she understands the wonderful relationship between social media and marketing. (Be still my heart!) So, before the conference ended… I wanted to get her on tape so YOU could meet her.
